Mobile Refrigeration Unit Monitoring
Under contract with Thermo King®, the leading manufacturer of transport temperature control systems for mobile applications, New Boundary Technologies developed a state-of-the art remote monitoring and control solution for the company’s mobile refrigeration units. Offered by Thermo King as a value added service, the system provides its customers with information about unit location, operating temperatures, load integrity, fuel levels and operation status.
Thermo King’s Radiem-powered service utilizes GPS, satellite and cellular communications, and a central Web site to deliver real-time location tracking, temperature monitoring and load history information to customers. It provides automatic alarm and event notification and remote diagnosis of unit operating faults. Thermo King’s service helps its customers schedule, control and manage their operations to improve overall asset utilization, logistics and refrigerated fleet productivity. |

Smart Liquid Reservoir
Working in partnership with Caire (owned by Chart Industries), New Boundary Technologies developed software that lets a home-based oxygen concentrator automatically report its status and usage statistics to the homecare provider's central office. This valuable information lets medical personnel monitor remote patients. And gathering information about the concentrator itself (oxygen concentrate and flow rate, etc.) slashes costs for servicing the far-spread concentrators. Personnel now only go to a patient's home when service is indicated.
Caire also employs technology developed by New Boundary Technologies in its liquid oxygen reservoir products. Using the New Boundary Technologies data collection software, Caire is able to deliver liquid level measurement reports from remote oxygen tanks to a distributor's PC. With daily updates on the liquid level status of remote tanks, oxygen distributors can optimize their delivery routes to refill critical tanks first. |

Medical Software
Surgery on the overactive section of the brain that is responsible for Parkinson's Disease can ease its crippling effects. During brain surgery to relieve symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, a probe measures neural activity of the brain. Using software developed by New Boundary Technologies, data from the probe is translated into readable information. This information pinpoints the overactive section of the brain, giving the surgeon precise control, and significantly reducing the risks involved. The surgery has proven to be an effective method for getting Parkinson's patients active again. |

Research and Development
Dr. Charles Nelson, at the University of Minnesota, is highly regarded in his field for his studies measuring brain activity in infants. During a study, a specially designed cap is placed on an infant. Electrodes inside the cap record electrical waves transmitted by the child's brain activity. New Boundary Technologies created software for Dr. Nelson which collects, analyzes and graphs data from the electrodes. Versions of this software (ERP) are now used in hospitals and research labs across the country. Among other things, this software is used for the early assessment of brain damage to infants so appropriate therapies can be started as soon as possible. |

Test and Measurement
Before a freezer ever makes it into a consumer's house, it goes through rigorous testing at Frigidaire. As they say, "reliability and performance are the hallmarks of Frigidaire.®" Frigidaire knows exactly how well its freezers perform and how reliable they are. Software developed by New Boundary Technologies monitors, records and helps analyze energy consumption, temperature performance, and other critical performance factors in the Frigidaire test labs and factory floor.

Automating Manual Data Collection
Jaber Engineering Consulting recognized the need for an accurate method to rapidly quantify the number of air voids in concrete samples. Existing manual methods were tedious and error prone. While Jaber Engineering provided the engineering expertise, New Boundary Technologies integrated the testing equipment with a personal computer and developed the analysis software. The result is the Air Void 2000 (AV2000) product. AV2000 systems are currently used by private and government laboratories to ensure the safety of concrete in roads and bridges.
